Radin Skin Centre is the first practice in Canada to use the most advanced laser available for Laser Hair Removal. This laser, the GentleMax Pro, was seen on Dr. Oz, where it was described as the “Color Blind Laser” because of its ability to treat all skin colors. Treatments are fully customized to each patients skin and hair type.
Your procedure is conducted by highly trained practitioners under the supervision of Dr. Daniel Radin, a dermatologist board-certified in both Canada and the U.S., one of very few dermatologists with this distinction.
I have been interested in getting laser hair removal for years. I have watched enviously as many of my fair skinned friends showed me the success they have had. As a woman with dark skin and black hair I had done my research and knew that this is the most difficult type of colouring to treat as there is risk of scars/discolouration/shadows on skin, etc. Recently I tried the laser at Dr. Dan Radin’s clinic, it is the only one of its kind in Windsor and it’s clinically proven to be safe for even the darkest skin tones. I was worried that it would be painful, but was pleasantly surprised that there was just a slight tingle. Tweezing, waxing and threading hurt much more. It has been 4 weeks since my first treatment and there has been NO regrowth other than a few stray hairs. I didn’t have any skin reactions (and I have very sensitive skin) or discolouration. I am so excited for my next treatment and would recommend Dr. Radin’s laser hair removal to women of ANY skin colour. -Patient Testimonial and review by A.F.

Are you tired of going through life with a unibrow? It might have looked sexy on artist Frida Kahlo, but most people would rather zap their “hairy” spots, and they want the process to be as quick and as pain-free as possible.
Meet the GentleMax Pro laser, the newest and most powerful hair removal system on the market.

With Laser Hair Removal, you can finally get rid of unwanted body hair without the time and discomfort associated with shaving, tweezing, waxing, and electrolysis. The laser provides removal of large areas of hair without the irritation, nicks, bumps, and ingrown hairs that frequently occur with traditional methods.
While there is no completely permanent method of hair reduction, the GentleMax Pro Laser provides a near permanent solution that is the most effective method available today.
Almost any area of the body with excess hair can be treated, but the most common areas are:
The GentleMax Pro uses two different types of lasers. The Alexandrite 755 nm Laser is the gold standard for hair removal from lighter skin, and the YAG 1064 nm is the gold standard for hair removal from darker skin.
“The difference in hair growth after just two treatments with the GentleMax at Dr Radin’s office is incredible. Before the treatments, I had to shave the area daily, and now I only shave a small amount about every 3 days. I highly recommend it and plan to have several more areas treated in the very near future!” –BW
The high intensity light of the laser targets the melanin (dark pigment) in the hair follicle and destroys it with heat. Unlike electrolysis, the laser is efficient, capable of treating more than one hair follicle at a time and large areas in each session. The laser affects the hair while leaving your skin intact.
Hair grows in three stages, and Laser Hair Removal can only affect hair when it reaches its growth cycle. Since different hairs reach their growth cycle at different times, more than one session is required to treat all unwanted hair.
Because the laser works on the pigment in the hair, the technique does not work on grey or lightly colored hair. We treat people of all skin tones, but please avoid tanning and sunless tanning products of any kind prior to your treatment.
A couple of days before your treatment, you should shave, but avoid plucking, waxing, and electrolysis. Tanning, including sunless tanners, should also be avoided prior to laser hair removal.
The GentleMax Pro uses a cooling spray prior to application of the laser light. Patients describe the pulsation of the laser as similar to a rubber band snapped against the skin. Most patients say that waxing, plucking, shaving, and electrolysis cause more discomfort.
Laser treatment is also less irritating to the skin. We can apply a topical numbing agent, however, if desired.
Depending on the size of the area you wish to treat, your session may take just a few minutes if a smaller area, i.e. upper lip or 20-30 minutes for a back.
There is no recovery period necessary after Laser Hair Removal. You can go back to work immediately after your session.
Some patients experience some minor redness and swelling, but these symptoms will resolve within a couple of days. If you have darker skin, in rare cases, the skin in the treatment area becomes darker for a short time. This is not usually permanent.
The results of Laser Hair Removal are not immediate. The hair stops growing and falls out within three weeks of each treatment.
Most people require 4-8 sessions in order to clear an area of unwanted hair. You can opt for fewer treatments if hair reduction is sufficient for you.
These treatments should be spaced 4-12 weeks apart depending on the area of the body being treated. This allows the hair to reach the appropriate part of its growth cycle in between your appointments. Any hair that does grow back will be finer and lighter than before.
We also offer IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) hair removal.
With the state-of-the-art GentleMax Pro – the only one currently in Canada at Radin Skin Centre – in most cases there is over 90% in hair reduction after 4-8 treatments. If you are serious about hair removal that really works, visit the Radin Skin Centre.
